Unizone is pleased to welcome James & Lindsay Life & Pensions
JAMES & LINDSAY LIFE AND PENSIONS LTD
James & Lindsay Life and Pensions Ltd can trace its roots back to 1932 when J Lindsay started trading from an office in Colchester. L C James also commenced trading in the Tollesbury area in the early 1900’s, being involved in both insurance and accountancy.
The two businesses merged in 1968 to form James & Lindsay Ltd and traded from offices in Lion Walk, Colchester. At that time this was a narrow street and the office was directly opposite the spire of the famous Lion Walk Church. Whilst the church spire has been retained, the offices were demolished as part of the town centre redevelopment, and in 1984 the expanded business moved to premises in the picturesque Dutch Quarter of Colchester. By this time, ownership of the business was in the hands of Len Nieuwenhuis who together with his wife had purchased the business in 1977, having been employed since 1970.
The business continued to grow, partly through acquisition and mainly from recommendation. The client base includes a number of local businesses and there is also a strong connection with the farming community, some of whom have been clients for several generations.
Len Nieuwenhuis
Len has been employed in the insurance industry for nearly 40 years.
After a short time working in the City he joined James & Lindsay and purchased the business in 1977. Having been born and bred in Colchester Len has developed and maintains close links with the local business community.
Len continues to provide advice to both existing and new clients on all aspects of financial planning with particular emphasis on individual and corporate pensions coupled with retirement planning.
James and Lindsay Life & Pensions Ltd is a successful and well respected business and the merger with Unizone combines a significant amount of expertise and experience.
