People are often confused by Pensions. In reality, they are simply a long-term savings vehicle for your retirement to which the Government currently allow several tax incentives.

With State Pension provision forecast to continue to decline and talks of the State Pension Age being moved upwards from age 65, it is as important as ever to consider planning for your retirement.

There are a number of different types of Pension Plans that you and/or your Employer can contribute to. In fact, if you work for or run a company that employs 5 or more staff you should already have been offered membership to a Stakeholder Pension Scheme under the Government's regulations, which came into force in April 2001.

A brief explanation of each of the various types of Pension Scheme is available from the menu opposite >
